When I see art that excites me, it's usually because it reminds me of something I should be doing, or could be doing.
David's paintings remind me to loosen up, be more painterly. With expressive brush strokes, the intention is more effective than the exactness of the results. And boy, is this guy prolific. His website shows work in all manner of media. I'm especially enjoying this painting of trees (a subject almost as difficult to capture as humans).
